Sculptank is structured to offer the best practical solutions to any design brief. We use a range of sculpture production techniques to suit the time frame and budget of each project. We also provide a range of support services for artists and designers via our in house team and the use of specialist companies such as bronze foundries and industrial platers.
The best method of production
Much or our time is spent hand sculpting clay using traditional techniques before moulding and casting it in the desired material. Alternatively we digitally create the object and 3d print it before cleaning up the print and then taking it through the moulding process. We also hand carve polyeurethane foam or polystyrene if larger objects are required and finish them according to the demands of the brief.
Digital Sculpting
As Digital sculpting has progressed it has become a valuable tool in quickly realising the completeness of an idea before going to the lengths of actually creating a piece in the 3 dimensions. This can allow for significant changes to take place at the design stage without compromising budgets and timelines. Today we make so much sculptural artwork via a digital process, it is often better to 3d print from the original design and then enhance the details in the real world to match what is seen on screen.
Artist support
We aim to assist artists in any way we can from developing designs and creating maquettes of ideas to enlarging pieces from miniature. As well as having 30 years of sculpting experience, we are also master mould makers and as such can mould and cast anything. We can reproduce sculpture from existing moulds if you have them or create new ones to order.

Cnc milling/ 3d printing
Depending on budget we can have projects cut out by cnc milling or use our in house 3d printer to quickly realize a digital sculpt in 3 dimensions.
Reproduction
Sculpture is made in any material at any scale, there is no blueprint. We apply a standard of mould making in a range of materials to allow the finished work to exist in whatever material the project demands. Bronze is the classic and we work with a range of foundries to get the right result. Fibreglass and resin offer a vast range visual finishes, from a cold cast bronze to marble and pretty much anything you can think of. Polished mirror finishes to realism, silicone rubber chimps or a waxwork, We will create what you need.
